I was interested in the Genomebench software of NCBI since i found Artemis a little wanting in the UI part. Genomebench offers interesting possibilities in interacting with Genome databases which i presumed from the screenshot on their webpage. Which also said

NCBI Genome Workbench is an integrated application for viewing and analyzing sequence data. With Genome Workbench, you can view data in publically available sequence databases at NCBI, and mix this data with your own private data.

However when i tried installing it on my Mac as well as PC it constantly refused to run!! All i could get was just the loading screen which stayed on forever!! Any insights into the problem are welcome.

PS: I almost forgot to mention that i had a hard time getting into their FTP to get the download, so if you’re interested to try be prepared for a significant waiting /connection ordeal.
